Unique experiences on departure and arrival
Paris Aéroport offers unique cultural experiences to passengers from around the world, incorporating art and culture into their journey.
A mural at Orly 4 – “Another airport emerges: 2022-2025,” created by two young French artists known as Pangea – is just one example of Paris-Orly’s commitment to the environmental transition.
A rich and varied schedule of events
Art can be appreciated in many formats and is expressed in a variety of ways at Paris-Orly and Paris-Charles de Gaulle. Annual events include two major exhibitions in the Museum Space (Terminal 2E, Hall M), numerous exhibitions in the deboarding corridors, special events and works that are on permanent display.
Paris Aéroport’s cultural programming has two objectives in mind: promoting France’s heritage and supporting French creativity.
Choreography for celebrating the Olympic and Paralympic Games
To mark the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, some sixty dancers under the direction of choreographer Mourad Merzouki joined together to give an extraordinary performance: Farewell, Dance of Departure. They provided a unique artistic and festive experience for the many passengers and athletes who passed through Paris airports during the exceptional summer months of 2024.
The best of French Touch music on the roof of Terminal 1
On July 17, Paris Aéroport brought together the biggest names from the French Touch electronica scene for an exceptional concert that included Air, Phoenix and Etienne de Crécy. The unique event, which attracted nearly 2,000 music fans, transformed the roof of Paris-Charles de Gaulle’s Terminal 1 into an open-air concert hall. It proved a memorable evening for French electronic music fans, held just a few days before the opening of the world's largest sporting event.
Celebrating the reopening of Notre-Dame de Paris
Paris Aéroport celebrated the reopening of Notre-Dame de Paris, which was closed for five years for renovations after a fire. Passengers had a chance to admire the iconic Parisian cathedral, displayed in all its splendor on the large bay windows in Hall K of Terminal 2E at Paris-Charles de Gaulle.
Just like at the Musée d’Orsay
In 2024, Paris Aéroport partnered with 12 French cultural institutions – including the Musée d’Orsay, the Louvre, the Quai Branly Jacques Chirac, the Palais Galliera, the Château de Versailles and many more – to bring art into its airports.
At Orly 1, Paris Aéroport and the Musée d’Orsay mounted an exhibition entitled “À l’heure d’Orsay” featuring twelve paintings by masters of Impressionism (Van Gogh, Monet, Renoir and Degas), all displayed in a setting inspired by the Musée d’Orsay’s architecture.
Exploring the Domaine de Chantilly
Created in partnership with the Château de Chantilly in Paris-Charles de Gaulle's Terminal 2E, an exhibition entitled “Chantilly, Secret Splendor” invited visitors to discover an estate that showcases the riches of France’s cultural heritage. It offered an in-depth look at the French way of life.
A deep dive into contemporary French art
In the field of contemporary art, artist and photographer Léo Caillard displayed his photographic prints of Greco-Roman statues at the invitation of Paris Aéroport during 2024. With the help of lenticular prints (a 3D-like printing technique), spectators were able to see the statues nude or dressed in contemporary accessories and clothing.
